Everyone that worked there felt like a good friend. The coffee was AMAZING much appreciated after a long ferry ride. Worth the minimal drive off the highway. They hand roll their bagels, my daughter had that and wouldn’t share. Three of us had the traditional breakfast. They had a porridge bread to die for. Also, their potatoes were unreal, “deadly”, roasted potatoes if you're going traditional. Our coffees were decorated with hearts, which felt fitting, given the circumstances of our trip. Nothing will disappoint you here.
Review : 5/5, the staff was really friendly and helpful for the local area and helped us out with our itinerary. Food recommendations: bagel with cream cheese (they make the bagels fresh and hand rolled and same with the cream cheese), cream cheese brownies (for chocolate lovers and it was pretty heavy so I split it and saved some for later), yogurt and berries(all made in house and it was a good snack on the go). Overall, everything about this cafe was really nice and pleasant.
SO delicious! We ordered 2 lox schmears (1GF), 1 roasted veggie focaccia sandwich, and 3 magic puffins (long pour espresso and steamed milk). Every server was so friendly and we got great info about the area nearby and all of the Cabot trail. Totally reccomend!!
Best coffee around —— by far! (They roast their own coffee under “Village People Coffee Roasters”) I love the Cuban sandwich and the Italian deli on their homemade focaccia. The cinnamon roll is a classic. The owners and staff members are absolute gems and they love sharing the best tips and what to see and do around Cape Breton. I can’t recommend the Highwheeler enough
Food was great, super tasty, and also all hand-made. Service was great and the owner was super nice and sociable. Ordered the bagel with egg, tomato, and bacon. Definitely recommend for everyone. Also has outdoor patio seating.
Incredible hospitality at this hidden gem! Rosalie and her entire family are super welcoming - not only did we enjoy our delicious coffees and godly pastries, we got a lay of the land (Baddeck) from them too. Truly a necessary stop on any Cape Breton trip!
Incredible coffee, friendly and helpful staff who are a wealth of tips for travellers, and the Cuban sandwich was maybe the best sandwich I have ever had, better than all the lobster rolls from my trip!
Delicious food and coffee and the people running this place are amazing! They took time to give us destinations we should stop at on our trip! I can't recommend it enough! Plus you can take some beans to go
